As part of the Live Projects module at Loughborough University Design School, a handful of companies and consultancies each presented us with a design brief. As students, we were able to choose one brief and design a solution to address it. I chose Panasonic’s brief, what was “living better together: design a product for shared university accommodation”.

My solution was “Bloom!”, a social activity hub collates vetted events happening in and around University. A student can simply tap their ID and set their mood to be matched with like-minded people and events, with a view to forming new social relationships without fear or judgement. It’s designed to be used both as a group and individually, giving anyone – regardless of social fluency – a foothold to meed new people and expand their social skills.
