The EM1 is the culmination of my degree in Product Design & Technology at Loughborough University. A technically functional and carefully considered device to prevent speakers at music events from being driven too hard, burning out and needing replacement.
The EM1 is a two part system – a base station and up to 18 remote sensors. Together they create a wireless network of informants which monitor the physical properties of speakers. This information is then used by the base station the gradually modulate the volume to keep the speakers below their physical limits, allowing them to operate at peak efficiency without the risk of spontaneous combustion – no matter how loud someone tries to turn it up. A last line of defence against distortion!
