sh1tpixels is yet another sub-brand of Errant Minds. I created the Instagram account in 2018 as a place to show off the renders and animations I was making at the time.
During School, one of my main pastimes outside of the classroom was playing with software like Cinema 4D, Maya, Houdini and various render engines including Octane and Arnold. I discovered I actually quite enjoyed it, and got pretty good at it too.
I continued honing my skills and knowledge, exploring motion capture and 3D scanning using an Xbox Kinect, VR videos, physics simulations and anything else that caught my eye.
For a time I pursued a career in Visual Effects, working as a runner in the London VFX house CherryCherry and at Socio Design as a product visualiser – a role I also pursued via freelance during COVID19.
I don’t get round to rendering often these days, but it remains a vital item in my tool belt. I’m particularly thankful it became on of my obsessions when making CAD for product design.
