This was a weird one… but actually pretty cool in hindsight. To go with the thrown pottery for my A level art, this animation depicted a pot man coming to life in a museum – only to return to his ancient amphora brethren.
I used a xBox Kinect V1 to motion capture my body movements for the animations of the man and IK rigging to translate it to the pot man. It was really difficult and looked bad, but it’s all about the meaning, dude.
Made in Cinema 4D and rendered with Octane.
