Custom Watercooling Loop

I happened across an old broken air conditioning unit, took it apart and thought “huh… I could use this to cool my computer!”

I’d always wanted to water cool my PC, but it’s an expensive business and I was broke. So I had the idea to buy the bare minimum and use the evaporator from this air conditioner as the radator. It ended up working incredibly well!

It started off like this:

Eventually, I upgraded it with actual PC radiators and parts that made me a bit less nervous. Bit by bit, it became more and more ‘proper’. I wish I kept that radiator though. I took for granted how well it performed!

Unfortunately, it was time to retire it in 2018. I moved to a laptop and eGPU setup instead. I still miss it though 🙁

I will definitely be doing this again once I have a disposable income!
